About PAEM
Pakistan Association for Eastern Medicine
The Pakistan Association for Eastern Medicine (PAEM) was established with the vision to promote, safeguard, and systematize Eastern Medicine (Tibb-e-Unani, Ayurveda, and other traditional systems) in Pakistan. It serves as the national representative body of Hakims, scholars, and researchers in Eastern Medicine.
PAEM was formed under the guidance of eminent Unani physicians, educationists, and philanthropists who believed in strengthening the scientific base of traditional medicine. The association was also aligned with the ideology of Hakim Mohammed Said, who dedicated his life to the revival of Tibb.
How PAEM was Esatblished?
- In 1968, Hakim Mohammed Said established the “Society for the Promotion of Eastern Medicine”, a platform through which he regularly brought together Hakims from across the nation.
- Following his Shahadat in 1998, a condolence seminar was held in Lahore, where a large gathering of Hakims assembled. On this occasion, Ms. Sadia Rashid and Hakim Abdul Hannan formally announced the establishment of the Pakistan Association of Eastern Medicine (PAEM).
- Since then, the Association has continued its journey, actively organizing its functions and setting future directions for the promotion of Eastern Medicine.
